Grand Velas Riviera Maya has been awarded the 2011 AAA Five Diamond Award for lodging, making it and Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit the only two family-friendly resorts in North America to merit the award. After careful scrutiny of all resort aspects by tourism editors during unannounced evaluations, only an estimated 0.25 percent of the estimated 60,000 AAA Diamond Rated properties receive the coveted Five Diamond Award each year.We are honored and extremely proud that our commitment to excellence in service and providing our guests with unsurpassed luxury and world-class dining has been recognized by this prestigious organization.

THE LEADING SPAS OF THE WORLD -
Named a Leading Spa of the World in 2009. In 2005, The Leading Hotels of the World launched the first global evaluation and certification program for the spa industry. This program allows for any Leading Hotel with a spa component to undergo an inspection in which more than 200 areas are reviewed for certification. Criteria taken into consideration ranges from the reservation process, to the spirit of welcoming and atmosphere of the treatment room, to the treatment itself and the farewell.
