New Mayan Spa Treatments Added to Se Spa Menu At Grand Velas Riviera Maya

Kiin & Uh Stones lr.jpgRiviera Maya, Mexico (July 24, 2019) - Steeped in Mexican culture, SE SPA at Grand Velas Riviera Maya has expanded its treatment menu with more locally-inspired options and modernized ancestral techniques.

A therapist alternates between sacred Mayan obsidian hot stones and marble cold stones throughout the newK'iin & Uh Stone Massage. Creating a soothing and sensorial experience of health and vitality, together they detoxify, relax and release tension in the body. The healing heat drains the body of toxins and the cooling stones awaken the senses. Balancing the chakras with quartz fills the body with vitality and helps reduce electromagnetic energies produced by digital devices.

Another new treatment with Mayan Herbal Poultices is specifically designed to promote healing and enhance full body detoxification, all while basking in ultimate relaxation. Subtle aromas of sage, rosemary, thyme, valerian, eucalyptus, lavender, chamomile and ginger seep through the warm compress, helping to stimulate one's body and face's natural flow.  The treatment also reduces muscle tension as well as joint inflammation.

Joining its sister property in Riviera Nayarit, Se Spa at Grand Velas Riviera Maya has also added aQuantum Drum. The Quantum is a vibrational instrument that, when played, generates harmonic sounds in 432 Hz frequency. These notes tune the human being to the frequency of the earth, the universe and one's heartbeat. The Sounds from the Soul vibrational healing massage provides a deep state of relaxation, helps recover physical energy and mental concentration, and provides mindfulness to the moment. The 80-minute Nik Te Ha Aquatic Massage, Meditation Bath, Thai Massage and Abhyanga & Shyrodhara Therapy will also now start with the drum to ground the soul.

Bougamvillia Limeade.jpgThe flowering bougainvillea throughout the property will now also have a role at the spa. During check-in, guests will be treated to a Bougainvillea Limeade with a twist of rosemary. Bougainvillea is a boost to the immune system that treats coughs, enhances respiratory function, detoxifies the body, cures stomachache and eases joints pain.
