The resort is the best resort my husband and I have ever been to, and we have had the pleasure to stay at many fine resorts in Mexico, US, and Hawaii. The room was clean, large, and inviting with a lovely view of the pools/ocean. The food, whether a buffet, room service, pool side, or one of the amazing restaurants, was always delicious. The five different pools were large and even with many people at the resort, had enough space so you never felt crowded and could actually swim (the cold pool was very refreshing on a super hot day). But above all was the service. Everyone was so polite, spoke amazing English, and would do anything to make your stay a pleasure. A special call-out to Luciano who helped us by the pool. I don't think we ever went 5 minutes after finishing a drink or food where he wasn't there checking on us. An extra special thank you to our concierge Carolina. Carolina was so accommodating, had great tips on places to see, and was fun to talk to as well. We mentioned to her we had been to Cozumel for our honeymoon and 13 years later, this was our second honeymoon courtesy of a work event. On our last night at the resort we came back from dinner to be greeted by a romantic set-up, with a bubble-bath ready, rose petals scattered on top, swan towels on our bed, champagne waiting for us, and a special hand-written note. We had already had an amazing time, but the extra small touches made this our favorite resort, we will definitely be back.

This is the first review I've ever written. I had to take a few minutes to thank the entire staff at Grand Velas Riviera Maya.. Our vacation was flawless. For one, you never feel pressured from the staff for tips as I had previously read on other reviews. They are super attentive to your every need. The teen room.. let's talk about this amazing room. My kids enjoyed their time there daily (voluntarily) from cooking lessons to billiard games with other kids. Cleanliness.. The entire week I was there, I never stepped into a dirty bathroom in either hotels or poolside. Loved that our rooms were cleaned twice a day if needed. Mini fridge was restocked daily with their favorite snacks. Safety.. I never once felt unsafe or in danger. I can keep going on and on about this place. Was worth every penny. We stayed at the Zen and we were worried about the transportation to the beach. Honestly not once did we ever have to wait even 60 seconds. They really have a great system in place that an air conditioned van comes within the minute if its not already there. I did enjoy the peace, nature and animals at the Zen. Did not miss the oceanfront like I though I would. The children enjoyed the plunge pool every day. Excursions.. We did a private excursion thru the hotel to Tulum to see the Ruins and the beach. We were provided a van for y 11 family members.. What a blast! We were comfortable the entire way and had the best guide ever.. Mundo, you rock!! Beach side activities.. Our family did everything available, from the catamaran, kayaks, jet ski to parasailing and skim boarding. The kids were well entertained and we also enjoyed our down time. Monica our personal Concierge/butler made all our dinner and excursion reservations and helped with whatever we needed. She's fantastic! Grand Velas thank you for the amazing memories!

Great service, excellent food and beverages. 7 a la carte restaurants and kids (and teen) clubs for parents to enjoy their own time off. Our whole family, grand parents included has come three times. Never been let down. Highly reccomended.

The resort is grade A, 5 Star. They think of everything and take care of everything. Everything is grand from the entrance, lobby, the rooms to the view.The only negative on a great week was the other guest at the pool. The last day of our vacation we got up early to watch the sun rise over the beach and infinity pool. They have awesome padded chairs at the pool. A few have curtains, for even more privacy. Now most of the week the pool area was at 50% capacity max. But the day before a large convention of investors and there family's checked in. Since we were leaving in a few hours we decided to stay dry and relax at the pools edge. In one section alone there were about 28 chairs , 4 were in use the rest were being "Saved" . They had pool toys, magazines, towels, sunscreen or some other crap to save the chair. We stayed there for two hours an never saw anyone come back to there "saved" seat. I would have to say that 90% of the best seats were saved. The other seats are good/great but not at the pools edge. Its the only thing that was a negative on my week. And it was the other guests not the resorts fault. I thought of saying something but we were leaving in a few hours. All in all its was a awesome vacation and place.
