I cannot recommend Grand Velas enough. My visit was in February for 6 days and every day was spectacular. Swim up bars, 24 hr room service, and the staff was incredible. The only negative I have is that the staff was so accomodating that I felt uncomfortable asking because I knew I'd get it! You have to watch yourself or you'll get spoiled. Really. The staff is that good. Plus they knew my name after 1 day! The beach, the pool, Karaoke bar, 6 restaurants, shopping in Playa, touring Chichen Itza. Man this was the life. If you ever leave the resort, you should go to X-plor park for ziplines, 4wheeling and cave swimming.Yes, the food was super elaborate at times but it just added to the fun nature of the visit. plus, since it's all nclusive, you should try everything. You'll find something new to love. And if the food is too elaborate you can go to Azul most times for the buffet, or try the room service. I wanted to every night but I was so tired I only got to call once.! 5 stars

We just celebrated our wedding at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya on March 11, 2011 and we could not be happier. Thanks to the help of Pamela Zerecero Catzalco (our wedding coordinator) it was an absolutely amazing day and a time we will never forget. Since the very moment we & our guests arrived (21 group total) we were blown away not only by the property as the decor and architecture is absolutely breathtaking but also by the exceptional level of service we received from EVERYONE from the moment we arrived. We could not have chosen a better place - the food (presentation and taste), the decor, the service, the suites, amenities - we could not have imagined a better place and cannot wait to return. From the moment we checked in to our departure we were absolutely blown away. I do not know how to begin to thank Pamela - our wedding day was what we envisioned and so much more. From the moment we came thru the magnificent gates to the welcoming in the lobby where we were were seated and greated while checking in. Our room took our breath away and when we looked out the window we realized this was going to be an incredible vacation. The employees were so kind and genuinely concerned about making our trip magnificent. Every restaurant was one of a kind with menus and service out of this world. The canolis were better then when we were in Italy. The pool service waiters were always so enthusiastic on what specialty drinks to have. All the beach boys especially Ivan were so service oriented and caring of our needs and what watersports to do it was amazing. We have been to many many lst class resorts but none have compared to Las Velas. The beauty and elegence of the hotel was so appreciated and the Kareoke room and bartenders were remarkable. We had our wedding in December 2009 at Grand Velas. It was beautiful, service was increadible, wedding coordinator Tatiana was very professional and easy to work with, she even made the weather cooperate :). All the personell went out of ther way to please every wish of our guests. Food is world class, accomodations are perfect, room service is super elegant and on time. Spa is great! Professionalism of the staff is very high. This place worth it''s price. We are planning to come back!
