Only downside is that the resort doesn't enforce its policy of "saving" pool lounge chairs. People come out around 7am and put a toy, bag, shoe or other item on chairs to reserve them for hours later. The policy, which is posted everywhere, is one hour then the staff puts the items in lost and found. That doesn't happen. It was a big deal when we asked staff to release 4 chairs for our party of 8 that had been sitting unused for 3+ hours. They finally took pictures if the items then put them aside behind the back row of chairs. For an upscale resort and the price tag, the policy should be enforced, no questions asked. Other than that, the resort, spa, food and staff were top notch in every category.

We had an amazing experience here! The facilities were beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained. A special thank you to Gabriel in the Zen pools—he was an absolute angel. So kind, attentive, and welcoming, he truly made our visit even more special. His service went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

We are repeat visitors to Grand Velas Riviera Maya, and it continues to set the standard for what a truly exceptional resort experience should be. From the moment you arrive, the entire operation runs with a level of care and hospitality that is remarkable. The grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we have had wonderful stays in both the Ambassador and Zen sections of the resort. The food continues to be a highlight of every visit. The wine list is excellent, especially at Frida, where we discovered several surprising and wonderful Mexican wines that paired beautifully with the menu. Sen Lin is always a highlight for us, and Azul never disappoints. Antonio and Juan at Azul took wonderful care of us, and Fernely at Chaka was equally fantastic. The kids clubs are also exceptional and make traveling as a family feel truly relaxing. Our children loved the programming, and the staff are thoughtful, warm, and attentive. A special thank you as well to Edith for the beautiful yoga classes and to our concierge Dariana, who helped make every detail of our stay seamless. Kudos to the entire Grand Velas team. It is clear that a tremendous amount of care and pride goes into creating such a consistently special experience. The leadership and culture behind this resort truly show through the warmth and professionalism of every team member we encountered. We always leave already looking forward to our next visit.
